Changes

Well, well. I decided to grace our blog with our presence again! Lots to share since I was last here. Again, not sure who has is still here cause of our long absence. Well, since last I posted, we have sold our house, moved 1300 miles to a place far from family, bought a new house, gotten new jobs, and nearly died from heat and humidity.

So, Clayton had been looking for new jobs and despite applying to many in Utah (so we didn't have to worry about the housing market), he ended up getting the one in Texas. So, after weeks of sleepless nights for me (Clayton had more faith), we put our house up for sale. And it sold in 3 days, no joke. So we only had a month from the time Clayton accepted the job to when he had to be down here. So we did get our house sold and ended up buying a spec home down here is that very beautiful. I am eating my humble pie and realizing that building a house with everything you want doesn't happen very often:) But we love our new house. It is a has more finished square feet, which gives us room to grow.

Talking about the move would not be complete without a shout out for my parents, especially my mom, who nearly single-handedly packed up my entire house. You see, Clayton had to go down to Texas to start his job before we moved because I was still working. So, I was finishing up work and my mom was packing my entire house with a little help from myself.

And did I say that we couldn't get enough of change, so we sold our Mazda? Mostly because of car registration and driving a long way. So a shout out to the many family members (especially Clayton's parents) who lent us a car in the interim. We now have an older Toyota Highlander and are enjoying the extra space.

Clayton likes his new job. He is the Finance Director for the City of Anna. It has been a growing experience and it is nice that he works about 3 minutes from our house. I am still in the process finalizing a job, but I am realizing that there are many more opportunities here for an SLP than in Utah. We are enjoying ourselves down here (and the pool) and have loved all the new friends we have met.

But we miss our family and friends we left behind. There have been sad moments when Kaylee has asked to just stay here in Texas for a little while and then go back to our old house so she could play with a certain cousin, friend, or family member. Makes you feel a little sad for them, but I guess change is something we all need to learn to deal with, large or small.

I was waiting to post again until I had pictures of our house. Unfortunately, that means I need to clean and unpack more. Both of those are not my strengths. More pics will come soon when that happens. Until then, just imagine a cute, clean, unpacked house. Yah, it looks like that.
