Update

Well, it has been a great Christmas. It was so fun to see Kaylee get so excited about her gifts. She has been playing with them all ever since. I just wanted you to know that video/pictures will be coming soon. And, hopefully, a cute little baby girl. When I went to the doctor a week ago, I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. (that may be more information than you wanted to know, but oh well:). For Kaylee, when I hit that my water broke 3 days later. No baby yet, but now Clayton and I are getting anxious. We want this baby to come now. . .

Santa Claus

We went to a Christmas Party with Clayton's father's side of the family this weekend. Here are a few cute pictures to go along with the fun. The first few pictures are of Kaylee with Santa. She was very hesitant to even sit with the kids in front of Santa, which makes sense why she was even more scared to get close to him. Daddy went up to help her get her present, but she wouldn't sit on his lap or even get too close. She did however say "Thank you" and "Merry Christmas" with some prompting from Daddy. She has talked about Santa now for the past few days.

The other pictures are of all of us in front of the tree, Kaylee with her girl cousins and Grandma/Grandpa Fulton, and her watching the talent show (we thought she looked so grown up).

Last Christmas we were busily working away on the house, so it has been more fun to really enjoy the Christmas season this year. Such a wonderful time of year!!

There is a first time for everything

It is a week of firsts. Last night, I was finishing up dinner and Kaylee was playing/dancing right around me. She went to her room and it was seriously 5 minutes before I realized she was playing too quietly in her bedroom. I come in to find her with a purple crayon on the wall. Kaylee and the purple crayon. So, I hurriedly try to clean up her wall. Then, Clayton comes home and we realize that I missed the 2 other walls and 3 other door frames that she got with the crayon on the way to her room. Oh, goodness, that girl must be feeling better (she had croup this week) to be so troublesome.

Secondly, we got Christmas lights put up on our house. The real kind that you climb up on the roof to put up. Clayton and I realized that it is the first time we have ever done that on our own house(me, 27 and him, 29). I guess we are finally grown up.

Halloween!!

Here are some pictures from the ward trunk or treat and Cornbelly's this weekend. We were having fun getting into the Halloween spirit. And I must say, I love her in her costume.

Oh the cute cute little things

Hey, so just a few cute things to post. She is only 21 months, but she does say and do some cute (and also aggravating) things. She had a difficult day this week where she was just being whiny all day long. So, as we are at a store, I looked at her and said, "You are driving me bonkers!" About 5 minutes later, I noticed that she was singing "booonnnkeeerrrs" to her own little tune while dancing. I watched her sing it over and over again for about 3 minutes. It was so cute. She had no idea what she was doing or what I really meant by that.

My other favorite thing is her great "Yaahh" that comes when we ask her if she wants to do something that she enjoys. It's just great to see her personality.

Fall weather

Just wanted to post quickly and say that I love fall. My absolute favorite season will always be summer, but fall is giving it a run for its money. I have been enjoying the cool, but still warm weather. The beautiful colors of changing leaves. The fun of picking out pumpkins and finding Halloween costumes. That's it; just wanted to post about really liking fall.

Oh, and one more thing. Under a hundred days left until the new baby arrives:) yahoo!

Don't worry, I have back up. . .

Let me just preface these comments by saying that I really love where I am this year. I really like the Middle School setting and I feel like I am working enough time to get everything I need done, but still see my daughter and get enough rest. I really like it!

Like today; I have a boy that is in the 'life skills' unit, meaning they are working more on functional skills than staying near grade level. I don't know if it is the shirt or what, but he and about 3 others finally noticed I am pregnant after I've been seeing them for the past month or so. He preceded to tell me that I should name my daughter (1 whole minute pause) Nelly. I told him I would have to talk to my husband about that and he said that he knows my husband will like it.

Then, he tells me that just in case I can't make it to my husband and hospital, he can help me out. He then tells me 'I'm a scout'. I said that was great. Then, he said that means he helps other people out. So, he tells me, I can be a scout doctor and deliver your baby. I smile, try not to laugh, and think about the good hands I'm in here at school just in case my baby decides to come before I can get to the hospital.

It's gonna be a girl!

So, we have had a poll amongst some people we know and about 75% said it was another girl and 25% said it was going to be a boy. Obviously, you guys are smart. We are having another little girl. It is fun to think that our little girls may be really good friends and get to almost share a birthday. I'm gonna attach a few pictures of the cute little girl.

We are so excited. I got out all of our cute little clothes and remembered how tiny Kaylee used to be. I was looking at the few cute little preemie outfits that we had to buy because she was so small when she was born. It is definitely starting to feel more real. . .

Gender

So, we are very undecided about whether this baby is a boy or girl. We should find out next Friday morning (Sept. 11). But I want to know. . . what do you think it is going to be?

She's good

So I looked over and found Kaylee all dressed up, high heels and everything. The best part is she walked from the kitchen to my bedroom (down the entire hallway) in these high heels. She is starting to rival and even beat my skills in high heels. I think she looked great; she has the legs for heels, but we will probably wait a little longer to get her own.

Handy

Well, we decided to try out the toddler bed version of our crib before Kaylee gets a new bed when the baby comes. So, daddy did the work that it would have taken me 7x as long to do. Little did we know that Kaylee was going to help out. With how handy daddy is, maybe Kaylee will be our next little handy-woman.

As a side note. She has done very well with the new bed. Except for the first two minutes. We said good-night, shut the door, then two minutes later heard a loud clunk and screaming. After we held her and put her back to bed, she was good. In the mornings and after naps, she is still in her bed. I don't think she ever gets out until I come get her. The traumatic first minutes must have scared her.

Yellowstone

We spent the weekend with Clayton's family in Yellowstone. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun. Kaylee enjoyed being with her cousins and actually slept in the tent pretty well. We got sprayed by Old Faithful and enjoyed the smell of rotten eggs. We saw bison up close and personal and enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls. Here are some pics of the trip.

So Much To Tell

Well, well. I have so much to tell and limited space to tell it. I have been horrible about getting on and it is because I am a horrible secret keeper. So, I never wrote on the blog for fear of spilling my pregnancy news before I had even seen the doctor. Well, we went last week and all is well with the little baby. It was awesome to see the little one moving around with its little arms and legs. I am almost 12 weeks along. And yes, if you do the math, that means that 'new baby' is due 2 days before Kaylee's 2nd birthday. It will be fun.

July 4th was fun. We spent time with both sides of the family. We saw the Murray Parade, enjoyed the outdoors (especially Kaylee) up American Fork Canyon, and watched and did fireworks (not Kaylee's favorite). It was great to see my parents who were up for the week.

I also had my birthday last week (July 2). I turned 27 and now feel like I am nearing 30 with my greater speed than anticipated. It was a wonderful day. Clayton took me to the movies and out to dinner and surprised my with having cake with my family the next day. I also bought new clothes to fit over my expanding belly. But I'm not really that big yet, so a tummy picture is not warranted. I just feel huge cause of stretching.

And the week before, Clayton and I got a well-deserved vacation in San Francisco. Clayton had a training in San Francisco and I went along for fun. My great parents came up and took care of Kaylee for the week. We definitely missed Kaylee, but had tons of fun. We wrote the cable cars, went on a sightseeing cruise, visited museums, saw the Golden Gate Bridge, and ate at fun places. We won cheap tickets at the Wicked Lottery, watched the seals at Pier 39, and visited the Aquarium. In addition to all the fun, I got to take long naps and really rest.

Overall, we have had tons of fun, and here are a few pictures of San Francisco and my yummy cake to prove that it all happened.

Dead or Alive

I know, I know. We have almost fallen off the face of the earth. But we are back. School was ending and time just got away from me. But now, I have a little more time on my hands with summer break (though I don't say that too loud because Clayton is as busy as ever) and have a little more time to write.

We are doing well. Clayton and I have our first official longer-than-24-hours-without-Kaylee date planned in 2 weeks. Clayton has a training thing in San Francisco. So, with my parents help (thanks again), we are going sans-Kaylee to San Fran for the week. We are ever so excited and when Kaylee goes over that we left, she will have tons of fun with her Grandma and Grandpa Burnside.

We bought a slightly bigger car to fit us more nicely and our family as it grows (Silver Mazda 6). It is 2 years old with 26,000 miles and it is the newest, nicest car we have ever had. Or probably will have for a long time until it is paid off.

Other than that, we are playing in our dirt and trying to save money.

Time of Eggs, Chocolate, and fun

Well, we had a fun Easter. One where Kaylee had a better clue of what was going on, which made it a lot of fun! We hadn't seen my parents lately or their new house in Snowflake, AZ, so we decided to drive down and see them and their new house for the weekend. Yes, we decided to take our wonderful daughter in the car for a 10 hour ride. One direction. But, honestly, she did wonderfully. She was SUCH a trooper and I just had to play entertainer or food-giver the whole time. So here are some pictures of the trip.

We went to the Snowflake Easter Egg Hunt on the golf course. She had so much fun and actually got two eggs. We were afraid there wouldn't be any left due to parents dragging kids to pick them up. One was a hard-boiled egg (lucky for us it was actually hard-boiled, others weren't quite so lucky) and another was a plastic egg that you could redeem for candy and a toy. Her toy was the yellow blower-thing-y-majig that you see in another picture.

The pink dress was her Easter dress and she loved going around finding eggs and putting them in her basket. She starting talking to Grandma and Grandpa more than we have ever heard before. She says "hi", "bye", "up", etc. Plenty of fun was had by all. It was just sad to go home.

Fussy

We have been running into a fussy baby who hates to be in her car seat. I don't understand. Has anyone else run into this?

Oh the funny things

So, my daughter has a toy drawer in the kitchen of our house and her Grandma Fulton's house. Her new thing this month is to play with the toys and then play in the drawer. I just think she is dang cute.

We are playing house

Here are the pictures of the house as it is now. Blinds, couch, and all. It starts in our bedroom, our bathroom, Kaylee's bathroom, her bedroom, the laundry room, the kitchen, the dining area, and then the family room/entry. We are so happy to be in and have a little more time on our hands. Sometimes if I look back at the pictures of the not-so-much-done-house, I think about how I love it so much more right now. I'm glad we are done.

Okay, so it has been a while and I haven't been so hot at posting. There were a few cute pictures of Kaylee during a birthday party with the Fulton side of the family. The first was her fun time with her cake. Obviously, she enjoyed it. The rest were her playing in her new dress with her pink phone. I think I even had a phone like this when I was younger. Happy Birthday Kaylee (almost a month ago).

No need for makeup

So, I know, I know--I haven't gotten pictures of our finished house yet. We have internet now, but I'm not going to take pictures unless the house is clean. So, I promise I will clean my house to get final pictures of the "done" house. But in the meantime, I will tell you the super-funny thing I heard the other day. I really love my speech kids. I was doing "why" questions with a pretty high-functioning autistic kid. One of the questions was, "why do women wear makeup?" He kept starting at the wall (darn eye-contact) and said, "so they look pretty and they can get men to marry them." Who knew, it's only used to lure the mean in. That's it, it's all going in the trash tonight.

We are IN!

So, we are moved into the wonderful house! Everything is still in boxes and the computer I am working on is not moved yet, so pictures and more info later. Just wanted you to know. And to pray that our heat gets fixed. Our furnace went out last night and we had Kaylee sleep on a heater blanket. Fun Fun.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!! She turned one on Saturday. We went to the aquarium to celebrate. She loved the jellyfish and the slow moving fish, but was terrified of the fast-moving fish! Happy Birthday to my cutie and thanks to all her fun family who celebrate and sent and delivered presents!!

Does "almost' count in building houses, or is it just like horsehoes and such?

So here are the almost latest pictures of the house. Okay, so they are from a week ago. We have since gotten carpet (which definitely changed the look of the house), appliances, and (gasp) flushing toilets. If the stars align, we tap dance, wiggle our fingers and rub our belly at the same time, we might be ready for our final inspection on Wednesday. So, we are getting our fingers and toes ready. We'll get more up to date pictures soon when EVERYTHING is done!

Down with Work!

Okay, so work isn't a horrible thing. Yet, I am sitting here thinking about starting work next week (even though it is only 2 days) and that Clayton will have work all 40 hours of a work week and not being home with Kaylee and I. All that thinking made me think that it is no fun. Christmas and New Years are wonderful, but they just spoil us. So, just a shout out to anyone else who feels that going back to work is no fun. Good for us and the finances, but no fun.
